Al Stewart: Kim's Corner

December 20

Posted on December 20, 2010
December is a busy time for all of us. Sorry I have not posted in a while.

2011 is shaping up to be an interesting year for Al. If you are in the New York area at the end of February be sure to see Al at the City Winery. It's a relatively new venue, but it already has an amazing reputation.

If you want to see Al in your city, give the contact information for Al's booking agent to your favorite venue and make a plea. (Just click "contact" on this web site for all the information you need. Al does not decide where he get's to perform. That is up to the people at the venue. If they are willing to pay what I consider to be modest rates for the quality of performance you get Al will be there.

The concert at Yoshi's in San Francisco (Thursday, December 2) should be interesting. Fans are coming from as far away as the UK to attend. Be there if you can.

When someone lets me know about a particularly good video found on YouTube I will try to let people know about it. The person who put this together did a very good job, with some beautiful images.

Here is a YouTube clip of Al singing "Year of the Cat" on Italian television, November 26, 2010. Quite an elaborate production. I'm sure you will all enjoy it.
Here is a link to Al doing "Time Passages" on Italian TV on November 26, 2010.

A German fan has given me the head's up that Albert Hammond's new album, "Legend", features Al performing "It Never Rains in California" with him.

Al is scheduled to be in Rome, Italy on November 26 to perform on "I Miggliori Anni" ... THE BEST YEARS.  He will be playing short versions of "Year of the Cat", "Time Passages" and "On the Border" with the studio orchestra. I'm hoping some Italian fan will be able to record it for the rest of us. Several clips from the show do appearto be available on YouTube, so maybe we'll get a chance to see Al's appearance.
