An online friend pointed me to this "dance" cover of "Year of the Cat" that I had not heard before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiHmeQfJauk

Coming up March 1 on BBC Radio 4.  You can probably stream the broadcast from outside the UK. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01ckmg8 Melvyn Bragg and his guests discuss the life and work of Benjamin Franklin. A printer, statesman, diplomat, writer and scientist, Franklin was one of the most remarkable polymaths who ever lived - and as the only Founding Father to have signed all three of the fundamental documents of the United States of America, including its Declaration of Independence and Constitution, he occupies a unique position in the history of the nation.

Here is one of the better pre-concert write ups I've seen for an Al Stewart shows.  This one is from the Daily Telegram in Adrian, ahead of Al's March 10 show in Charlotte, MI.  The writer is CLEARLY a long time and devoted fan. http://www.lenconnect.com/opinions/x1793838770/Mark-Lenz-History-lessons-with-Al-Stewart -- Kim

Just wanted to let folks out there know to watch out for a 'reissue' of Al's first single, "the Elf". If you are making  a purchase, be sure you know if you are getting an "original" or this "reissue".
